An old Pinewood painted chest from Gansu, approx 50-60 years old. This chest has a very unique and nice orangey brown colour, and the paintings in front are (from left to right): phoenix, peony, Buddha’s citron and pomegranate in a bowl, bottle gourd, lotus & crane. Note that the top & sides of the chest are dark brown.
