Rectangular Painted Bench from Chaozhou

A very unique rectangular bench from Chaozhou with painting on the top. The seat top is black lacquered with paintings of scenes from the garden: flowers, butterflies, a grasshopper, in shades of green and orange. There are some carved details at the slim waist just under the seat top, and the rest of the bench is in a very deep red colour.
