A long, slim console from Fujian province, finished in a rich red lacquer, approximately 80–100 years.
The form is simple and linear, allowing the details to stand out. The drawers are fitted with original brass hardware, where the loops between drawers are designed for a padlock – an old practice for securing contents in drawers.
To prevent scratches from the lock, cloud-shaped brass plates are installed on the face of the drawers. These serve both as protection for the drawer fronts and as a decorative element.
A simple piece with thoughtful details, suitable for entryways or narrow spaces.
