Jumu Rectangular Stool 1

A vintage rectangular Jumu (southern Elm) stool from Shanghai, approx. 80-100 years old. The original colour of the stool had been retained and only a semi-matte clear lacquer had been applied. The original colour of the stool is a dark reddish brown, being one of the most used piece of furniture in any household, there are some discolouration, nicks and repair marks, all these are consistent with its age, wear & tear, and should not be considered defects. In fact, the colour on top had been worn out to a lighter brown which showcases the Jumu wood grains beautifully. Can be used as a stool, or as a side table next to the bed or sofa.
