This Korean chest was sourced near Jilin city, which shares a border with North Korea. It is heavily decorated with white brass hardware, and there are double happiness motifs engraved on the long vertical strips in front, signifying that this was gifted to a newly wed couple. The engravings on the metal plates are mainly of cranes and flowers, and near the bottom there is a hanging metal plate of a crane holding a lingzhi in its beak. The chest has a hinged door in front, and only the top half opens. This was typically used to store clothing and blankets.
Do note that 2-3 pieces of the original metal pieces are missing.
