Old Washbasin Cabinet from Fujian

An old red & gold carved washbasin cabinet from Fujian province, approx. 80-100 years old. Right at the top are carvings of a pair of lions, and throughout the cabinet you will find carvings of magpies and plum blossoms, which means joy & happiness, and is often depicted on furniture and paintings to bring good luck to the house.
The colour on this piece is original and finished with a clear semi-matte lacquer, some touch-ups have been done to the gold gilt where it had faded too much.
The mirror in the middle has been replaced. Made of Elm & Pine woods, and all the carved portions are made of Camphor wood.
