A Large Beijing Cabinet with Carved Lions Below
A tall and impressive antique cabinet from Beijing. The brass hardware on this piece are new as the original ones were missing, but we had tried our best to replicate as close as possible to the original design. The carvings on the apron below are extremely auspicious, there is a symbol of longevity in the middle with a carving of a bat above it; bats symbolise good fortune. There are also four protruding carved lions around it, which symbolise power and protection.
The wooden shelves inside have been replaced, the bottom shelf flips up to reveal a large secret compartment inside.
Elm wood, original colour finished with a clear matte lacquer. One pair available, price indicated is for one piece.
