In the middle section there are original paintings of people enjoying leisure activities in the garden and pavilion, and at the top corners above this painting are carvings of phoenixes & peonies, an extremely auspicious combination. At the bottom are through carvings of magpies & deers set within a diamond shape; magpies symbolise good news and deers symbolise prosperity. At the four corners of the diamond shape are bats, bats symbolise good fortune. The door handles on this pair are original and complete.
