A vintage footrest from Fujian province with beautiful relief carvings of fruits and flowers.
The original red colour is retained, and the gold leaf on the carvings had been touch-up, and then overall finished with a clear semi-matte lacquer. This type of footrest was placed in front of the bed, acting as a step as well as providing storage.
