This newly crafted tapered cabinet features doors repurposed from 70–80-year-old carved panels sourced from Zhejiang, China. The cabinet is finished in a distressed sea-green finish with rubbed brown edges.
The carved doors showcase interesting through-carvings of birds and flowers, each carrying auspicious symbolism:
Top panels: Magpies with plum blossoms – heralds of good fortune and a joyful welcome to Spring.
Centre panels: Pheasant among peonies – a traditional blessing for your noble house be blessed with wealth and honour.
Bottom panels: Roosters with sunflowers – symbols of luck and auspiciousness, as the rooster’s chinese name sound similar to the word jí (吉) meaning “auspicious.”
Inside, the cabinet hass two removable (non-adjustable) shelves with heights from top to bottom at 41 cm, 42 cm, and 44 cm, providing generous storage for everyday items or decorative display.
