Jumu Rectangular Stool 4

A vintage rectangular Jumu (southern Elm) stool from Shanghai, approx. 80-100 years old. The original colour of the stool had been retained and only a semi-matte clear lacquer had been applied. The original colour of the stool was a darker brown, being one of the most used piece of furniture in any household, there are some discolouration, dents and scratches, all these are consistent with its age, wear & tear, and should not be considered defects. In fact, the colour on top had been worn out to a slightly lighter tone which showcases the Jumu wood grains beautifully. There are some ink stains on the top of this piece that cannot be removed. Can be used as a stool, or as a side table next to the bed or sofa.
