Antique Fujian Carved Desk

An antique carved desk from Fujian province, China, approx. 100 years old. This is mostly made of Fir wood, with the carved panels made of Camphor wood. The waisted part just below the table top has very pretty floral carvings. The carvings on the rest of the furniture also have a floral theme, except for 2 drawers on the top which has carvings of fish and prawns. The red & black colour on this piece is original, but we have restored the gold leaf on the carvings and gave this an overall semi-matte clear lacquer.
