A Pair of Low Spindle-Back Chairs

A pair of Elmwood low spindle-back chairs from Zhejiang province, approx. 80-100 years old, and their original colour and patina has been preserved with a semi-matte clear lacquer. The chairs have a classic Ming-style design, with simple humpback stretchers and two vertical struts below the seat; the footrest is beautifully worn with age and use.

The rattan top on the seats had been replaced with new ones, and reinforced with a wooden plank below for durability. With this new addition, these chairs can function both as seats and as side tables.
