A vintage cabinet from Fujian in bold colours of black, red and green, a standout piece that catches the eye.
The raised panels on the doors and drawers have delicate bird and flower paintings which are still in great condition. Surrounding the raised panels on the doors are crushed shells set into the lacquer – a unique decorative style often seen on Fujian furniture. The brass hardware and the butterfly-shaped lock plates are its original.
The cabinet has beautiful detailing around its framework that runs to its hoof feet. The table top, made of a single Ficus wodo plank and finished in a deep red colour, stands out nicely against the cabinet’s darker colours.
