Large Mirror Frame with Antique Carving from Guangdong

The carving on this mirror frame originated from Guangdong, and is approx. 100 years old. We had added a new wooden frame around this gold-gilt arched carving to convert it into a large mirror frame. The details on this carving are very impressive, with a pair of lively phoenixes on both ends, surrounded by peonies and birds. The combination of phoenix and peony carries a very auspicious meaning. The carvings of grapes symbolize career and business success, as whatever venture you go into bears fruit. The gold leaf on this carving has been touched up to restore the original grandeur.
