Gold-gilt Carved Mirror Frame

The carving in the middle is an antique carving from Guangdong, and we had added a new frame around it to convert this into a mirror.

The details on this piece is very interesting, it features a peony in the middle flanked by a pair of quails (courage and peace). At both corners are pomegranates (fertility), on the left there is a ram (respect for one’s parents), and on the right there is a pekinese dog (loyalty). The carving ends with a bat on both ends, symbolizing good fortune.
